Vanuatu, a string of more than 80 islands once known as the New Hebrides, achieved independence from France and Britain in 1980. It is mountainous and much of it is covered with tropical rainforests, with most of the population residing in rural areas and practicing subsistence agriculture.Vanuatu has a long and rich history, with many traditional customs and rituals and aried culture between the northern vcentral 

and southern islands. The government system is a parliamentary republic; the chief of state is the president, and the head of government is the prime minister. Most of the economy is based primarily on small-scale agriculture. It is a cultural hub, with over one hundred distinct languages spoken among the islands.

How to obtain Vanuatuan citizenship

In 2017, the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu launched the Development Support Program (DSP) for the purpose of raising funds to support infrastructure and promoting economic development of Vanuatu. The citizenship acquired under the DSP programme is fully recognised by the Government of Vanuatu and the nationality is regarded as Ni-Vanuatu (Vanuatu citizen). Those applying for and receiving Vanuatu Citizenship under the DSP have the full right to reside in Vanuatu at all times and the passport is renewable upon expiry Moreover, Citizenship is hereditary.
 
To qualify for citizenship through the Vanuatu Citizenship Programme, applicants must provide proof of funds no less than $250,000, have a clean criminal record and be of high standing in his or her community,  organisation, society or country. The programme is not open for nationals from Iran, Iraq, Syria, North Korea or Yemen, unless they have permanent residence outside those countries and have lived outside for more than 5years.

CONTRIBUTION TO GOVERNMENT

Applicants are required to make a non refundable contribution (donation) to a local development fund. The investment amount varies depending on the number of applicants.

– $130,000 for a single applicant
– $150,000 for a married couple application
– $165,000 for a married couple with one child
– $180,000 for a married couple with two children

There is also a $5,000 Due Diligence fee.

Vanuatu provides excellent offshore banking and banking services to private individuals and corporations. Vanuatu’s offshore banking centre is very active with numerous banks having received license to provide services, such as ANZ Bank, Bred Bank, BSP (Bank of South Pacific).

WEEKS 1 - 2
